What Will You Need To Get Started?
Though our lessons are online, they offer the same personalized, face-to-face experience without you ever having to leave home!
To get started, you will need:
- A computer with the music production software Ableton installed (you can download a free 30-day trial).
- Zoom (the free version) installed on your computer. This allows us to conduct the lessons online, share screens, and even request remote control of your mouse to demonstrate specific techniques in Ableton.
- A free trial of Loopcloud, an incredible sample library that will help you create and complete the music you love.
For advanced students who prefer to focus solely on programming their own synth presets or need assistance with mixing and mastering, Loopcloud is optional.

Meet The Teachers
Jay Berry
Jay is the founder of DJ Lab and has been DJing, promoting and producing electronic dance music in Brisbane for the since 2008.
He has played Brisbanes best bars and clubs from Sub Rosa all the way through to W Hotel, not to mention interstate gigs at Revolver Melbourne and S.A.S.H. Sydney . Most notably Jay was the only local DJ to play at Riverstage for Electric Gardens Festival in 2017 alongside heavyweight DJs Eric Prydz, Jamie Jones, Sasha and more.
In his time he has taught many how to DJ and produce from beginner to pro level, and is experienced in teaching people with learning difficulties or mental disabilities. Jay works with Pioneer, Abelton, Native Instrument, Xone products & more.
